Amended Notice

Pursuant to the California Coastal Act, the University of California (UC) Santa Barbara has prepared and submitted a Notice of Impending Development (NOID) for the Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration (Cheadle Center) Green Barn Replacement Project, involving the in-situ replacement of the existing 832 square-foot Green Barn located on the UC Santa Barbara Storke Campus.

The work involves demolition of the existing Green Barn including the concrete foundation, construction of a new concrete foundation and steel-frame and panel structure measuring 32-feet (width) by 26-feet (length) with maximum height of approximately 16-feet.

The existing Green Barn has reached the end of its useful life due to structural deterioration, weathering, rodent intrusion, and functional limitations. The new structure would support the Cheadle Center by providing centralized equipment storage, equipment charging, and operational support for field activities and restoration efforts.

The Project staff report is available for public review on the Current Projects page, under the Storke Campus tab.
