UCSB continually balances its physical growth to meet the needs of a top-tier education and research institution while respecting and protecting its unique coastal environment.

The Office of Campus Planning and Design leads this effort by managing the environmental review process for all campus projects pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Additionally, as the campus is located almost entirely within the Coastal Zone, all physical development is guided by the 2010 Long Range Development Plan (LRDP) in compliance with the California Coastal Act.  Most projects on campus are subject to review by the California Coastal Commission.

Public notices, environmental documents, and detailed information for all campus projects subject to CEQA or Coastal Act compliance can be viewed by clicking the boxes below.
