Minor Capital Projects
Minor capital projects are those projects valued between $35,000 -$1,000,000. This threshold is set by the State and is adjusted from time to time. The University historically has kept its definition of major and minor capital improvement projects in line with that of the State.
These projects may consist of new construction, space retrofit or reconfiguration, extensions or improvements to existing structures. They are expected to increase the usefulness, enhance efficiency, or prolong the life of the asset.
UCSB’s Budget & Planning Office manages the Minor Capital Project Approval Form along with obtaining the necessary authorizing signatures needed to approve a Minor Capital Project.
