for institional research endeavors. Many of these sites have links to additional sources
of data and resources on a national and state-wide level.

Association for Institutional Research (AIR)
Professional organization that examines and supports research and professional development
opportunities in higher education management, policy analysis, and planning. Especially
focused on the role of institutional research in academic institutions.

California Association for Institutional Research (CAIR)
Professional organization that examines and supports research and professional development
opportunities in higher education management, policy analysis, and planning in California.
Especially focused on the role of the institutional research in academic institutions.
The segments represented include campuses of the University of California, California
State Universities, California Community Colleges, and independent colleges and universities.

National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)
Collection of national statistics and publications on education in the United States.
Includes access to the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) survey forms,
data files, publications, and tools (Peer Analysis System, College Opportunities On-Line).

National Science Foundation (NSF)/Science Resources Studies(SRS)
Collection of national statistics and publications on science and engineering
resources required of the National Science Foundation and collected by the the NSF Science
Resources Studies (SRS) division. Includes access to WebCASPAR, a database system focused
on U.S. academic institutions.

Association of American Universities (AAU)
Association of research universities which focuses on national policy
on academic research and graduate educaton.

California Postsecondary Education Commision (CPEC)
Planning and coordinating commission for public higher education in
the state of California.

Council for Advancement and Support for Education (CASE)
International association of advancement professionals
from educational institionals, focusing on support in the areas of alumni relations,
communications, and philanthropy.

National Center for Public Policy & Higher Education
Independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that works to improve
higher education through public policy.

Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC)
Regional association that accredits public and private schools, colleges,
and universities in the Western region.

Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE)
Regional associaton created to facilitate resource sharing among
the higher education systems of Western states.
